Semaglutide and tirzepatide

Understand the distinction before comparing a program’s medication options.

Different active ingredients

Semaglutide acts on GLP-1 receptors. Tirzepatide acts on GIP and GLP-1 receptors. A clinician should explain which treatment, if any, fits your health history. They are not interchangeable prescriptions.

The product matters

An ingredient name alone does not identify an approved medicine, its indication or its source. Confirm the exact brand or compounded formulation, dispensing pharmacy and current prescribing information.

Avoid a one-number comparison

Individual results, tolerability, access and cost vary. Do not choose a medication solely from an advertised weight loss percentage. Compare the full treatment plan with your clinician.
